As part of Ballymoney, Finvoy and Rasharkin’s church weekend hosted at the parish halls at St. Patrick’s there was a full children’s programme on Saturday afternoon from 2-5pm. Whilst the parents joined in with teaching seminars, the children participated in games, crafts, teaching, praise and creative prayer activities.
The day was themed around the bible story of Jesus feeding the 5000 and was called “Lunch for a Bunch”. See our resources section for more information about crafts and ideas on the “Lunch for a Bunch” theme.
After some time spent together as a group, joining in with stories quizzes and a memory verse, the children participated enthusiastically in some team games before having a picnic style snack. After that there were 4 craft tables with themed crafts. As usual the edible craft was most popular and some may have gone home with a bit too much butter icing consumed that was strictly necessary. We rounded off the afternoon by learning a new song and praying together before everyone left full of cake and having learned a bit more about Jesus! Not a bad combination!
