Review of Hand in Hand Children’s Ministry Conference in Eastbourne

” A really worthwhile weekend -we came back buzzing!”

The annual Hand in Hand conference in Eastbourne took place from 6-8th February. It opened up its doors on Friday at 4.30pm and ran through until Sunday with the final session finishing at 2.30pm

There were four main stage sessions; 51 optional sessions including seminars, practical workshops, Bible studies and opportunities for prayer; a Hands On Discovery zone full of activity ideas; an exhibition area with 45 exhibitors and an extensive shop of resources. So as you can imagine it is a pretty full on weekend, but worth it!

The theme this year was “Dads and Lads” -trying to explore ways to make church relevant for men and boys.  Some really interesting thoughts and ideas were shared on that theme but there was so much else besides.

This year the Hands On zone was really great -the team have developed it from last year and made it a great place for families with young kids as well as a fabulous resource for children’s leaders looking for some great ideas. I especially liked the “10 things to do with…” sessions which I will be adding to the website soon…….

The seminars are recorded so it’s worth keeping an eye on the Hand in Hand website -you will be able to buy any that are of interest in a few weeks –  just follow this link to get there http://www.handinhandconference.com/ Also in their resources section are great recommendations of books helpful to your children’s ministry.

If you would be interested in finding out more about the conference feel free to get in touch. I would hope to bring some folk along next year, so keep it in mind! I will give you plenty of notice nearer the time!
