Jump in, make a splash, create ripples
- The repercussions of an event or situation experienced far beyond its immediate location.
- A gradually spreading effect or influence.
Ripple is all about serving God by jumping in, making a splash and creating ripples. If you ever feel that the work you do with the children in your parish is not very significant, you are probably not alone. It’s easy to underestimate the importance of our children’s ministry. Only God knows the effect you have on the lives of the children in your church as you share His good news with them.
Whether you are involved in organizing a one off children’s event or serving in a weekly children’s club, you can make a difference for God in a child’s life. By working together, we can create lots of ripples which can have a far reaching effect in growing God’s Kingdom.
The evangelist Dwight L. Moody was quoted as saying, “If I could relive my life, I would devote my entire ministry to reaching children for God!”
Our work with children is so vitally important. Let’s encourage one another, pray for our children and ask God to guide and help us.

Who is involved in Ripple?
Jill Hamilton is the Children’s worker for Connor diocese. She has been in the post since November 2013. What she loves about her job is travelling all around the diocese meeting children and their leaders. She is passionate about teaching children that they are loved and valued by God.
She is married to Geoff and in her spare time she like to grow lots of veggies and flowers in the garden, walk the dog and go to the gym.
The children’s council was set up in February 2014 and has been meeting every 4-6 weeks. The purpose of the council is for members to share ideas and experiences about children’s ministry and use these to plan diocesan events for children and training for leaders. It is also about valuing and supporting individual members in their own roles. We will endeavour to work together to help the Diocese build a vision for Children’s ministry in Connor.
The members of the council are: Heather Carson, Jill Hamilton, Alice McAlary, Gillian Millar, Chris Neilands, Andrew Neill, John O’Neill, Alison Shaw and Karen Webb.
